The first time I tried I got to this stage and the system crashed and wouldn't let me back into the forums.
Hopefully it'll work this time as I know the Necrons mught have something to do with it.

So hopw much painting has everyone else got left to do

I have about 6 boyz, 1 Mega armoured Nob, 5 Kommandos and that new Nob in WD

1 Chaos Sorceror
7 Plague Marines
5 Terminators
1 Defiler

Then i'll start on my new Space Marine army and some Chaos Space Marine Troops. Might get myself a little Chaos Demolisher to spice things up.

We have roughly the same amount to paint I think.

Kinder has done most of his by now i think.

A chaos demolisher would add a massive punch to your chaos army, not that 2 squads of terminators is'nt enough to handle anyway haha, you wait til my nobs get into combat with em,

I've completed my Terminators and x2 Daemon Hunter space marines.
I buying a squad tonight.

To have a basic battle force I need to have painted...
x2 Squads of Space Marines (min x5 in each squad)
Daemon Hunter Command Squad.

I'm aiming to have pure Daemon Hunter force but if not, they will be supplimented by Imperial Guard refereing to the allied structure list in the Codex.

Ali and I are off to Turkey for 10 days on 12th September. So it'll disrupt my flow. Was tempted to bring them out with me

Daemon Hunters would really give my Chaos a run for their money. That'll be a cool army Kinder!

Orks are great at Close combat so my Chaos will be in their element, also Orks will be tough.

General Tom HoD....I have a vendetta against ALL Chaos and especially Nurgles.
Everytime I battle against them, my troops are wiped out. In WWII Hitler had his V weapons. I have my Daemon Hunters ha ha

Joking aside, I've played with Imperial Guard since I was 17 and they are probably the weakest race. Bad at close combat, armour, hand to hand and movement.

They can surprise now and again but in the end they're just meat. GW knew that so they made Witch and Daemon Hunters to help out with the Imperial weakness.

Hopefully there will be a level playing field once I've formed my new army.

What the Guard lack in skill and toughness they make up for with artillery, Tanks, speed, numbers and variety of weapons. With the new rules your vast amount of troops can swamp objectives. I think the Guard are good, you just have to be prepared to see vast amounts of Human flesh splattered all over the battlefield. Especially when playing Chaos

I will build my Imperial army up gradually and we'll have to have a GUard v Guard battle. Imperial Guard also fair well against Dark Eldar and I expect they could really give the Orks a bashing!!

I think my heart lies with Imperial Guard but I like spreading a bit of Chaos. Maybe I should do a Chaos Imperial Guard army....hmm thinking cap is on!!

Im not a Guard player but they do much better against the weaker armoured opponents, artillery or not,

Orks may have a very low 6+ armour save for basic boyz, but toughness 4 will be meaning that standard lasguns will be wounding on a 5+, so I probably wont be making many armour saves anyway haha

I love the Dark Eldar, purely for their capability of zooming up the battle, disembarking on turn 2 and (if all goes well) unleashing a splinter cannon and a hail of splinter rifles in the cheeks of my enemies.

Dark Eldar will have to watch out for HoD's bolt Pistol ay Overlord
